Our Services

Finn Projects can provide the following services for each building:

1. Collection of building-specific information from the owner, including contact information, property type, EWRB ID, assessment roll number, area, etc.

   For EWRB purposes, the area to be considered as the gross floor area (GFA) is different from typical square footage, as it includes areas such as underground parking (unless it’s submetered). GFA is comprised of the total property space contained within the exterior walls of the building. This includes lobbies, common areas, stairwells, elevator shafts, restrooms, etc.

   Finn Projects can aid in the determination of your building’s GFA, through inspection of site drawings and possible on-site measurements.

2. Submission of requests to your building’s electricity, gas and water providers for release of utility data.

   Having already been through the data request process with 20+ local distribution companies (LDC’s) across Ontario, we are familiar with their individual procedures and have existing contacts in place to expedite the process.

3. Verification of the energy and water usage data received from the LDC’s.

   We will review all data received from the utility companies for accuracy and completeness. For cases where there is data missing or atypical reading periods, we can prorate and/or estimate the data as required. With Finn Projects' over 30 years of experience analyzing utility bills, you can be confident that this will be done with a high degree of precision.

4. Upload and submission of reporting data through the Energy Star Portfolio Manager website.

   Finn Projects will be responsible for setting up a profile for you on Portfolio Manager and ensuring that all utility data and necessary building information has been uploaded.

   In the event that EWRB Support requests any further information, we will handle all correspondence and clarification with them directly.
